Website visitor userability and ads on websites

I'm just wondering from all of you that use this forums that when you first go to a website like a free online games one and then click on an ad are you more likely to make it open in a new window or just the same one?

If it opens in the same browser and you didn't quite know that you were going to leave the site you were on then would you go back to it?

If you don't go back to the site then would you in the future if it looked a good site?

The reasons I ask this is because I have CPM ads on a games website where I have so far had around 1% CTR that has given me around 9 clicks but have only earned me around $0.15, so that works out at just under 2 cents per click and my visitors are worth more than that, and would not want to loose them for under 2 cents per visitor. I don't mind receiving that amount on average though if I will not loose my visitors and they still stay on the site or come back later. But if they click on the ads and then never come back to my site, then I wouldn't really want that to happen unless I earn't more per click on average.

I could use Adsense Image ads, but then I had tried them in the past and the earnings per click is around $0.01 - $0.03 on average and unlike the ad network, the adsense image ads seem to show the same ad on nearly every page whereas the cpm ad network doesn't.
