Hi Guys, I’ve got something very strange to report and was looking for some ideas on what could be going on. The shared server where my sites reside has been hacked (I believe) and my web host doesn’t have a clue what is going on. I first noticed that the source code of one of my pages had a function at the bottom of the document that would return an advertisement for v**gra. So, I deleted the code and tried to save my document but no matter what I did the same page would load. I know, strange, but here this… I delete all source code from the page to leave an empty document, however, when the page loads I get this in the browser; <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD> <BODY></BODY></HTML> HTML: No matter what I enter as the source code this page is ALWAYS returned. I even created a fresh page as test.php and just put echo “Helloâ€. When I load this new page I get the above again. It’s like every page is being redirected to display something else. So, I checked the .htaccess for anything suspicious, but nothing. I created a couple of tickets with my web host but they keep closing the cases and telling me to re-upload my pages. I keep telling them that this won’t matter as every page is the same but they don’t listen. Does anybody know how this could have happened and how I can fix it? It has now spread to all 3 of my domains and affects every single page on each site…it’s pretty bad. Thanks!
If all three sites are hosted on the same server at your current host then probably something is wrong on the server. Also if your simple test page is redirecting to other site then make sure your system is not infected with spyware/virus/malware/trojan. Try to browse your site on proxy site and check whether it is redirecting or not. Kailash
