Bug Website Verification For Web Hosting Ad Failed

I was trying to put up a thread in the BST web hosting subcategory, followed the instructions properly and uploaded the html file to my hosting domain, StableHosting.ca however at the end of the whole process when trying to submit my thread I get an error that doesn't seem to make sense, as my server is working fine and loading pages quickly for me...
Server did not respond in time when fetching http://StableHosting.ca' (offline or too slow?).

What is the process used to try to retrieve the file? Could our firewall be blocking the request? I guess I'll try to see if I can remove the current verification by deleting the file and try a cname or something, hopefully it will give me the random key again.

Looks normal on this end. What's the exact error you are getting?

Unfortunately, my mind reading skills are failing me right now, but just a guess. Do you have rewrite rules in .htaccess that are not set to skip files (you need a RewriteCond such as RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f) and are trying to process it anyway?

    It says exactly:

    "
    The following error occurred:

Server did not respond in time when fetching http://StableHosting.ca' (offline or too slow?).
I didn't create the .htaccess file, thank you for the suggestion I will ask my server admin or pop the hood myself if he isn't online.

It's giving me this error now when I try to edit my post here, because when I copy and pasted the error from the pop up it displayed in the colors of the error popup, red and black background and white text. When I posted the reply to the thread here, it was white on white so you have to select it to read it. Then I tried to edit it and it told me it couldn't connect to StableHosting.ca, not sure what that has to do with my editing this post on this thread. I'm using Chrome, up to date as of a couple days ago.

My guess is that your host has something preventing our server from communicating with it.
