Website using too much memory

    Hi,

My web host is telling me that my site is using too much memory. It's a content site with little dynamic component (using PHP), and does not have forums or chat functionalities. I have Worpdress installed, but doubt anything within Wordpress can cause this. I have done pretty much everything I can think of, and am running out ideas. Any suggestion is most welcome!

    Thanks.

What sort of traffic is your web site getting? If it's quite large it may just be due to the popularity of your web site.

Better move onto a decent VPS or cheap dedicated server...these are cheaper nowadays.

Cheaper doesn't mean better always, though it isn't worst as well.

Get yourself a managed one, VPS or Dedicated.

Yeah...right...I meant these things have come within reach for most people now.
With LxAdmin based VPS, very little or no management skills are needed.

I'd recommend installing the one of the Wordpress caching plugins, as that'll help reduce the amount of load generated from your traffic.

However, if you're generating a million pageviews, I'm sure that your ad-income would be able to support a move to a dedicated server, which would be ready for growth in the future.
