Yahoo directory may not bring you much traffic directly but it certaily helps your search engines rankings.

it's funny that a search engine lets you pay to essentially rank better within their own and other SE's...just thinking out loud :) . Not sure if it's a waste but I have submitted sites before and they never get around to adding them unless you shell out the $$$.

Your blog may not even get approved, then you're really out $300.

I'm thinking the exact same thing. I would suggest to spend your money much more wisely. If you submitted this to a few directories, and engines, you may achieve the same thing.

Just try avoid having to spend any money, where did you buy this from? was it direct through yahoo?

Directly? I'd guess about 5 visitors a year.
If you've got $300 to spend, get off a free blogspot and get your own hosting and domain.

    1. In all honesty, even if you pay $300 I doubt they will accept your site (I'm sorry but layout and design are very poor).
    2. Yahoo are not selling higher serp positions through yahoo directory. I does make sense to rank higher site which are listed in directory as if you're ready to pay $300 your business is more serious and secondly they review the sites manually and thus assure higher quality.
    3. Yahoo directory will not give you any visitors but it'll give you authority in eyes of google and yahoo.

Not worth it, IMO. Get hosting and domain first.

i like your blog, expecially the part where the cancel man bet on his life that he would not die before june and scooped 5k. my 2 cent why not buy a domain and hosting it will only cost you less than £50, and submit to few authority directory. U wont even have to spend that much for it. Good luck in your cancel research
