Website traffic or back links drive Google ranking?

    Hello Everyone.

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before.

I have recently begun a blog connected with our field of business and we seem to have healthy readership numbers so far.
However, I have simply not had the time to back link extensively and we seem to still be linked low on Google Page Rank.
ok, the blog has only been going for a few months:

My question, as the title suggests, is if back links are more important for a site's Google ranking than volume of website traffic?

Thank you very much in advance for any answers and of course for your time.

    Nev :)

Backlinks from relevant websites are the most important for generating relevant site visitors.

For me traffic is more important. For that you need to rank in top 3 of search result and for that you need good relevant high PR backlinks.
