Hey dpers, I know there are many ways to get traffic to your website. If I'm looking to sell a domain, I know the buyer wants to see traffic and/or revenue. I want to get real targeted visitors, but when people sell their site with a lot of traffic is it usually real targeted visitors or just "fake" non targeted visitors? Also, anyone know where I can get good, targeted traffic for cheap? Any feedback on the above or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It is not possible to give you general answer. To make sure that the traffic is targeted ask the seller to give you access to the google analytics account. If you will see 99% bounce rate the traffic is untargeted for sure.
It's not advice, it's description how bad people can do: they can order expensive but targeted PPC traffic, get many sales. Then show this sales stats to the buyer (without traffic source), and he will think it's very profitable site... So it's good idea to see source of traffic before the purchase.
yes, you can check information about domain you want to buy on special sites like alexa.com , siteanalytics.compete.com/ you will see some traffic stats
Thanks for the input guys ...any other opinions or experiences with this?? What do you mean by bounce rate??
If you want good traffic, you have to make the investment. Paying for bulk traffic is not good, but PPC through AdWords is more valuable.
Hey there! Best to consult the experts on this topic. Hire an SEO experts and let them guide you through this.
I have bought few sites through auction http://flippa.com now they have option for sellers to show verified site Analytics, so it's more safe to buy the site if stats is verified by 3rd parties like flippa.com
I agree about flippa.com; a general answer isn't really possible. But I can say that buying targeted traffic on the cheap is difficult and can be hit or miss. I've bought what I thought was targetted traffic and only had a few clicks to show for it. Buying traffic is trial and error.
You also have to look at the traffic history and if it shows continuous growth over months/years then most probably it can have genuine traffic. This is just to get a rough idea.
