Website Tracking Software

    Hi all,

I need a website traffic tracking software to generate customised reports on visits to specific pages on my website. I'm currently using Statcounter but unfortunately it doesn't allow you to generate reports on specific pages.
Does anyone know of any software that allows this?

Have you considered using Google Analytics for this? You can create a channel just for that page to generate reports for I believe.

There are also some very usable hacks out there, to view which pages users are clicking adsense ads on, and tracking full referrers!

I use google analytics too. One of those very useful hacks I use to track adsense clicks is using the astrack.js script file (cant post links yet - google for "astrack.js" and the site is the first link) - this will allow you to see which pages got adsense clicks on.

One word of warning though - google analytics updates every 24 hours; it isn't for "live" stats. Not really a problem for most people, but some people like to watch ;)

I use Awstats for up to the minute stats on every aspect of my site. It takes a litte effort to get it running, but I am in full control and not dependent on anyone to make it work. It works great and it's free. You need Pearl to run it. There are many plug-ins for it, too. It's easy to get it running on unix and IIS takes a bit of effort.

I have heard that there are a lot of security problems with AWStats though. Not had any problems myself (I used to run it before google analytics), but it might be worth researching if you use it a lot.
