Website Title:Is it illegal to copy another website's title.

Hi - does anyone know if its illegal to more or less copy your main competitors website title.

The title of my competitor uses generic words that I need to include. None of the keywords are unique to this company and all of my other competitors have different combinations of them.

I would be including my companys name in the title also - so the website titles would not be identical.

Does anyone even notice website titles apart from digital marketers?

    Thanks - urswal

You can use any title you like freely as long as it is not including the competitors company name.

Exactly, and as long as it's not useing trademarked names or anything of that nature, you should be fine.

use a combination of keywords as your title , use only main keywords in title and do not repeat any keyword.

its not illegal at all to copy but you can mix it and give your own also. company name can be put but it is not necessary to include it.

Does the order of the words affect SEO?

i will advise check out competition in google for lets say 5 main keyword phrases and then you can put more competitive words after less competitive. Also, do not use a comma and then see the difference.

Yes, certainly. We always place the most important keywords at the front whenever possible :)

no harm in using keywords you're competing with them for.
