Website Thirsty for visitors

    Hi,

I have a website that is now 3 months old. It is a web 2.0 directory.
I tried not to start a new topic about this but i realized my case was weird because my website barely gets any visitors. About 10-15 uv/ day only. Whenever i post it on forums such as dp, i get more uv's about 50-70 but the wave ends in a day or two. Some websites which started around the same time are now getting a stable amount of visitors and earning a good amount of money. I tried putting clicksor ads so i could get at least something out of the site, but that seems useless. I earn $0.05/day. I figured i must be doing something really wrong because my website seems like a ghost site lol.

Please give me some advice and tell me what's wrong with my site.

    Thanks,
    Zilox

Directories is a saturated market, and even google hates them these days. Your site appears to have no page rank, and 10 back links reported by google. You may get a PR in next update, but we will have to wait and see - most likely it is going to be a PR1 or PR2.

Also, your site could still be in sandbox, since it is just 3 months old.

I guess if you want to have any success with directory, you need to get atlest a PR4 or PR5. This could be hard, since google penalises directories these days.

Also, why dont you use adsense instead of clicksor? If you merge adsense with your pages well -like a square box on top of your listing in any section, without border and same color as your regular listings. Should not look diff. from your listings ;) - you can expect better return.

I think that's not enough to get visitors. It needs hard working to make lot's of backlinks to the site.
    you can try these ways:
1- manual submition to directories (500+)
    2- make backlinks in blogs
3- add some new features to your site
    4- buying backlinks
    .... etc

I saw your site. that's nice but need more data to grab more visitors!

Why would anyone submit his site to a directory that has a PR0? Do you?

It is a hard niche because directories are a dime a dozen. You need to make it stand out. You also need to invest in advertising either through adwords or some other form that will create traffic. Another way is to get links on homepages of other directories. When you are in a competitive market, it takes money to make money.

Well thanks, I guess I will keep this as my primary site and add services to it besides web directory.
I have already started a Url Shortening Service and I am going to start Web Hosting Resource forums, is that a good idea?

Don't give up very easily.........keep on working..........try to get some good backlinks to your site........as you mention that your site is just 3 month old, its really very early stage of a site.....just wait for some couples of months.......i hope you will definitely going to experience improvements of your site and you might start enjoy it .........good luck
