Website Submitter - new directory submitter software

Just purchased a copy based on what I read here. I hope at some point when the software stabilizes, you will focus your energy on reviewing and adding QUALITY directories to the database - I wouldn't mind paying an annual fee for updates.

We are updating daily the directories and we reach 2022 directories in database. We add the directories we receive in the submission form and also the ones we already have in pool.

In version 1.3 we will add the functionality to allow the user to add his own directories.

 

Just tried submitting a site and here are my comments:
- form didn't auto-fill for 123listfree.com
- although I selected regular links without reciprocal, I get an invalid URL error
(e.g. 1abc.org)
- some directories in the database require prior registration
- some FREE directories in the database are not really free

 

Some directories does not have recognizable patterns. You still have the option to use mouse right click and "Paste name" etc ( see attachment : screenshot right-click-in-website-submitter.jpg)

You have the option to choose the directories( see also website-submitter-type-free.jpg ):

- free
- reciprocal link required
- paid
- email

If a directory is marked wrong in another type we will fix it and add the fix in the new update version. For making this process more automatic we will launch in version 1.3 a REPORT button for easy report a director as wrong categorized.

Problem #1:
although I selected regular links without reciprocal, I get an invalid URL error
(e.g. 1abc.org)
- it seems I have to fill up the reciprocal URL field even when I selected regular links WITHOUT reciprocal. This happens with a number of directories.

Problem #2:
some FREE directories in the database are not really free.
- I ordered the directories and selected the ones marked "Free" but some of them weren't (can't remember which one). What I'm trying to point out is that you have errors in the database directory, i.e. should've been "Paid" instead of "Free".

 

- the filling up of the reciprocal for all cases is a bug indeed I am fixing and release today an update for this problem, thank you for reporting

- 1abc.org is marked allready as down and will be in the today update removed. In the next version 1.3, will be much easier to mark a directory as broken and then the operation will be much easier as at the end of the day an update will be created with the reported directories

- 2038 directories (31 new directories added and 36 removed in waiting pool)

The actual version of Website Submitter is 1.2.3 and can be downloaded from here.

I am launching if anyone wnat to test also the version 1.3 beta.

This 1.3 beta version has the following new great features added:
- multiple titles (anchor text). You can define as many titles you want and during the submission process these will be random used.
- multiple descriptions. You can define as many description you want and during the submission process these will be random used.
- patterns added for username, password and reciprocal linkback
- category combo boxes are now AUTOMATIC FILLED if the category defined is found in the directory category list
- interface improved
- new wizard options for selecting the directories

The rest of the functionalities in 1.3 remained to be implemented are:
- multi language support
- reports in csv, excel, htm and pdf
- for each directory additional properties:
1.Website age
2.Alexa rank
3.Yahoo rank
4.Google IBL
5.Edu link
6.Gov links
7.Dmoz link
- hide submitted websites (option to unhide them)

The link to download the beta version 1.3 is located here. I would say that this beta version is extreme stable, any problem occurred please send them per PM and I will try to resolve them asap.

I am attaching also some screenhots for 1.3 version.

 

When we right-click on a hyperlink, can you add the option to open that link in a new window (browser).

Or, you can perhaps add a button to open whatever page is being shown, to open in a browser.

I have removed that function because I did not find it useful. You can navigate in the browser in the moment of the submission no need to do it previous to this operation. I have asked some of the clients of the application and nobody used this function in fact.

If you consider bring some benefit to the application I will add it back but please explain me what benefit will bring.

 

Somehow the surfing within the software seems too slow and there are times when you need to go to another page of the site without losing the page you are on, just like normal surfing, or you may need to just bookmark a site etc.

So I guess some option should be there to open the page in a browser instead of manually typing it into a browser. This is all about less work and more automation!

 

Most "quality directories" will ignore auto-submissions. Let's just face facts.

 

The Website Submitter is not auto-submitter. NO director is going to block Website Submitter as cannot be made a difference between Internet Explorer submission and Website Submitter.

The Website Submitter use internet explorer functionality inside of the application. If you have other questions I am glad to respond to them.

 

Well, all I want to do is right click on a link or an ad and open it in a new browser window, so that I can look at it later after I am done with my submission. Is that too much to ask?

 

No it is not but is a possibility to be used to catch all submission links from the application. I would rather prefer to return the option in version 1.2 allowing browsing inside of the application in a normal IE window.

I have also attached a teaser of the version 1.3 with the report page and the functionality to save in HTM or PDF a report of submitted directories.

 

It would be nice if you can see actual PR of the page submited to. Is this going to be available?

 

Now you can see the PR of the directory, of the actual page where will be displayed is hard and maybe impossible because of the different directories type.
