How many times per week should I submit my website to search engines? Can I submit all the pages of my websites in one single day? Is it bad for my website? Please help..

I'm assuming you mean add URL feature on SEs: aka http://www.google.com/addurl/
I've never used the feature, since, IMO, it's not very effective. Plus, from my understanding even if you submit your site there it's going on backlog before it's getting crawled.

Try using some viral methods of content building to have your site crawled and noticed by SEs.

I guess once you've submitted your site to SE's, it is enough. Try other methods that could make your site noticed by the SE's such as forum postings, directory submissions, etc.

if you submit your site too often it can be considered spamming. I don't bother with SE submission. Get some backlinks and your site will be indexed.

There is no need to submit to search engines. Let the search engines find you by linking your site to other relevant websites.

As the others have already said there is not need to submit to search engines just get some inbound links and the search engines will soon crawl your site and have you listed in there index.

I would advise registering on webmaster tools for each of the main search engines and submitting your site map to them though.

If you do it once there is no reason to ever do it again.
Just submit your home page - if you have any decent kind of structure the bot will follow the links to your other pages.

One time web submission is enough... unless you have changed and refined your web structure or content.
You do not necessary need to submit all your webpages. If you home page has links to other of your webpages, you could just submit your home page or domain.

    May success with you.

Like everyone here says. SE submission on an ongoing basis isn't necessary.

I was however quite surprised last week; I found one search engine (a small unimportant one) that had a really old version of my index page cached. It was from before I had done any SEO on the site and I was therefore not ranking well in that SE. So I had to re-submit it...

Just try Directory Submission, SE will automatically indexed your site so no need to past your website in SE.....

Once, and that's it. Not once per week, just once. And only submit the site when it's finished, and not before.

Submitting to the search engines directly is actually a great way of getting noticed. Multiple submissions can get you on a backlog, but if you just "submit and forget" chances are that won't happen. It's not something I'd do instead of getting IBLs from other sites; it's something I'd do in addition to getting those links coming in.

That's patently false. If that was the case, I could get you banned from the search engines RIGHT NOW just for submitting your site to them 50 times an hour.

That's definately true for smaller sites and most (if not all) new blogs, but if you have a content-rich page-heavy site (like say over 100 pages when the site goes live), submitting to the search engines (and providing a complete sitemap.xml file) suddenly becomes a very attractive option, especially since the sitemap.xml file will tell the search engines where every page in your site is (before they even get to the HTML menu structure - I hope you're not using Flash or JavaScript for your menu here...).

Precisely. And every site SHOULD have a good crawlable and easy to use structure. Not only will search engines be able to find their way around, but you and I will be able to as well, not to mention our parents and Joe Average to boot.

You see, this is what I get for fulfilling my staff duties at both the SitePoint and SEO.com forums before coming here - deathshadow beats me to the punch.

    What w3bmaster means is

YOU DO NOT need to submit your website to ANY search engine - if you have links pointing you your website from medium - good ranking pages then your website will get spidered and indexed

you dont need to "Pay $10 to submit your site to 10000 search engines" these companies makes mugs out of you all !!!

Really? I'm just not seeing it here. He said "Search engine submission does not exist." That's not a expression or a figure of speech, that's a literal construct. Which deathshadow was able to easily disprove before I got back around to this thread.

Furthermore, if the search engines (aside from Ask.com) didn't want people to submit their sites, they wouldn't offer the option in the first place. Submitting your site has been and continues to be a GREAT way of telling the SEs that your site exists, especially sites with lots of pages that need to be indexed (which is what using a sitemap.xml file takes care of - again if the SEs didn't want people to do it, they wouldn't offer these features to begin with).

Whoever said anything about that? Just submit to the top three search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN/Live) in addition to promoting your site (however you choose to do it) and be done with it.

    It's not a big deal.
