Id like all your opinions on a question that was presented to me.. Website Structure & It's Elements In your opinions, what is the most valuable piece...better yet, a breakdown of the importance of the pieces of the structure for SEO purposes Perhaps summing it up to 100%, which hold the highest % of focus. Taking a few elements such as: Home Page - Text & Content META - Keywords - Descriptions Content Title Tags Page Titles Update of Content If you have others, feel free to include them. I know that each of these pieces must work together and with out the continuity between all factors, you ain't got much! I am trying to show the importance of content, as well as content update and I am working with a "designer" who wants things to be "pretty" My next question is.. if you have that "pretty" home page (when I say pretty, Im talking all images) and you fill the inner pages with correct & valuable content and all of the above, how does that work, and effect the entire site? What is the problem if they don't listen? are you losing anything for that matter. SEO algorithm is a secret. nobody knows the exact weight on anything. and we definitely wont' know everything. we only see things what we know. just keep an open mind when seo are concern. and most seo strategies that really works you won't get access in the open. you will only get the general ideas behind the strategies.
The problem is the designer wants the front page to be removed of all text and have an overlaid picture with no text.. and I feel that is incorrect.
Tell him to search for competitive keywords and find one website ranking in the top five that has that exact layout, he will be quick to change his mind.
Thanks ssandecki! I have tried that..and he was searching for soft drinks..WAY off our topic.. I mean way! and said he didn't want to read about soft drinks, he wanted to see them.. I told him..to image search than..but it hasn't sunk in! Teaching old dog new tricks.. thanks again for your input! loved it!
