How would you file a complaint for a website?

With paypal you can't, but you take them to small claim court. But if there from another state, I don't know how that works. IF your in the same city, you give them a letter to meet you in the court, and you explain to the judge what has happend. But if there in another state, I guess then you need to talk to a lawyer.

If they can't show you actual traffic or reve stats then use escrow. Generally scammers won't agree to use escrow.
But be careful anyhow if you buy on DP or SP.
Majority of sites sold there are hyped or outright scams .

There's a simple way to tell if something is making money...I wouldn't even trust PayPal in a matter like this, spending that kind of money...You should have gotten receipts...Tangible proof that you can take to a legal entity, not PayPal...PayPal is not even held to Federal banking laws, they can, and will only do so much...

Protect yourself and your investment by making sure you can account for what you're getting...

Looks like the site was just made. Cause alexa ranking of 6 million plus is like last in line. I mean look at my website directlinks.org (no spam intended) its been online for little over a month and my alexa rating is 300k and gets better everday.Ive put alot of money into it such as buying high pr website links and over $1000 in advertising i get about 2,000 uniques a day. That site he is trying to peddle is worthless its getting no traffic and i find it hard to believe he has sold anything.

The seller is either making no money from that site or he is using it as a spammers landing page and probably has landed himself in trouble for being the owner.

I would pass on buy that site but if you are interested get as much stat screen shots as possible.

Alexa ranking only means the visitors dont have their tool bar installed. I have a year old site with great traffic but a complete crap alexa ranking.

still 6 million. No matter what if you have a good site then you will have a very good alexa rating... an average site has a rank of about 1 million. good traffic site is under.

I still disagree that you can figure what a site is like from Alexa.

Just a quick check on one of my sites gives me a rank of 2,398,525 but has good traffic but more imortantly (and on topic with the OP) it makes good profit. I am not even going to check my other sites as I know the Alexa rank is way higher and just pure naff.

Many of the best business decisions are when one decides not to do something.

Probably the right call in this case.
