There is a guy who created a blog that rip-off everything from my blog. He copied every single page exactly from my site. I was wondering is there any action that can be taken to stop this kind of people from continue doing it? Will it affect my AdSense or search engine ranking and got banned by search engine? What i should do to solve this problem?
CONTACT HIM! I found people copying my blog content only to later find out that they didn't even know. They'd been sold some crappy script that goes out and grabs content from RSS feeds and posts it on their blogs. Even if they did it on purpose simply contacting them first is always the best option.
The same thing happened to me. I contacted them from my "legal team" email addy and they shut their website down the same day.
Yep i just sent an email asking him to stop doing that and whats his motive of doing so. What if he just ignore my email and continue copying every single thing from my blog. Is there any way i can report to Google first so that my site won't get banned by search engine?
I don't ask them to stop, I ask them for a link to my site and to put my words in quotes. I've received dozens of inbound links (and traffic) from their free marketing.
Yeah but duplicate content, some feel, can hurt your ranking. If the content is yours (original articles you wrote) then you can use copyscape to track down those who are stealing from you. http://copyscape.com Then fire off those "legal team" mails - they work real fast. You might get smart and demand they only quote say the first paragraph of your original content plus a link for full article to your site in exchange for "no legal action" .
I was checking the logs to my personal blog today and noticed that some of my postings were being used at a porn site Very nice, I have posts about my family and stuff on my blog and now some sleaze has put it on his porn site. The site is hosted at hostgator, so I filed a DMCA with them. Let hope they kill the site soon....
just a follow up to my earlier post. Hostgator has shutdown the website that was stealing my content. Only took them about 3 hours. Kudos to hostgator
looks like I spoke to soon on hostgator. They checked with the offending site and they were told it was removed (although it wasn't, it's still live) So posts from my blog are still showing on the porn site. If hostgator doesnt do the right thing here, I'll find a new host.

Did you just bring a 3 year old post back to life? :-P Good post though, nonetheless, I could use that sample letter.
This is a very Important Post, though it is few years aged. I fail to understand as to how such copy cats still survive.
My thoughts exactly. I never understood the strategy of such a thing. As for duplicate content, typically if you're the original copyright owner and the first site up, the rip-off artist's site will be the one that's penalized.
