My site's been up and running for about two weeks now www.researchtechs.com, just like to know what people thought of the overall design. I'd really like some suggestions on how to improve the left side of the table. Also, would anyone recommend making the table wider? I like the look, but sometimes it just feels like a person has to scroll a good distance even in only a semi-long article. Also, is there a good way to reduce spacing between lines instead of using <br> tags?
Hi ResearchTechs, as nobody else has replied I'll start the ball rolling. I don’t mean to be too negative but here goes. I don't like the buttons at the top, they have a very inconsistent look and in my opinion they look a bit amateurish. Your Search button links to previous answers, this seems illogical (I was expecting to go to a search page). The spacing between lines is excessive especially on the links in the left column; they look like 2 links rather than one that has been word wrapped. I would suggest using CSS to control your layout more.
Thanks very much for your opinion there, I really agree with all of the comments, I'll get on those. More are certainly welcome from everyone, thanks again
It seems to me there is lots of wasted space at top of page. Look at space between Google search, buttons, the goodle ads. Color scheme is another thing I would probably change. To me the turquoise and blue/gray background of page itself do not go together. Good luck with your page, Shannon
First thing I notice are the buttons on Top, it would be better if they are uniform to each other. You also used different type of font on each page this makes your site un-organized. Try to remove the borders (they dont conform) instead use stylesheets to create divisions for your left menu, top menu, and body. Just my 2 cents.
