I expect alot more from a web design tutorial site; there's just nothing there that tells me that this is the right place to learn about web design. The entire layout should be centered as oppose to left aligned as larger browser screens are left with a lot of empty space on the right. As for your tutorials, they seem pretty well put together although I only took a quick glance at a few pages.
I don't want to be harsh...but if I were to look for a site that would teach me web designing or sell me web design templates... I would expect to visit a site that looks way better than that.... Sorry bud... but I think this is a thumbs down..... Visit some 'web design' sites that are in business and see what you should do.
First, I love the domain but, wow, the design.... while it is "simple" there are the correct ways to do "simple" and then there are the wrong ways. You're attempt, I'm sorry to say isn't the best, its not totally horrible but isn't very good either. What I see in this design and how it can be reworked is below. Don't take it personally, criticism is the key to success!!! 1.) Logo and graphics are WAY to low quality to even be considered worthy to be used. 2.) This is a personal quirk, if you will but modify the urls with a useful name ie. change /templates/template_4/template_4_preview.php Code (markup): to /templates/free-template-4/blue-hosting-template.php Code (markup): 3.) The free templates give the site a bad impression instantly. They are of low quality and 1, show old out of date concepts, and 2 they are just way to simple to make me want to give the site creditability for being able to teach me anything useful. Upgrade the free downloads. If you want contact me I have hundreds that could be helpful. 4.) Since you have you have the phrase "Free Website Templates" on the page and have given it importance by wrapping it in H1 tags, you may also want to move that phrase from the end of the page title to the front of the page title this I have found will help reinforce the "Free Website Templates" message. However, you may want to because with this because it seems that the way you have worded the site and made prominence of the free template downloads, that the site is more about free template downloads then actually learning about website design. 5.) Another personal quirk for me would be to add a title=" " tag after the alt tag with something similar to the alt tag text. Also add alt, title tags to text links as well. <img src="http://-----------------.com/templates/template_4/template_4_image_preview.jpg" alt="Free Website Hosting Template by FreeWebHostingTemplates.com" /> Code (markup): My best suggestion would be to take the advice you find here on DP, apply that to what you know and do some research. Look at other similar designs, study the code, the layout, text fonts, sizes and quality of graphics used and soon you'll have everything you need to hit a home-run on your first swing
Site is good looking but you should add more professional contents to your site very basic contents are there
