Hi guys, I have been approached by a local company to update their website as it hasn't had any work done on it for over ten years. The company that initially created the website is no longer trading and I have been unable to find any contact details for them. The local company that wishes to have the work done left all registration and hosting to this now non-trading company and so does not have any information relating to ownership. I have done a whois check and find that there are the codes clientTransferProhibited and clientUpdateProhibited. I know the hosting and domain registration company. My question is, can the company in question obtain their login details if the registration was controlled by another company? And will they be able to make changes themselves (or allow me to make the changes on their behalf)? Thanks,
Hi FoxIX, You did not find the email ID, phone number and address of the current domain owner in the who is record?
Your question sounds strange to my ears. Are you wanting to buy the domain? Gain access to their hosting service? Offer them your design or management services? If the site has been abandoned for years, I doubt they are hiring, and if they keep paying the hosting, I doubt they want to sell it. A friend of mine has wanted to buy this domain, who always shows the same page, unless the owner has something to say; mainly politic criticism. When not, the page is only a background color and a simple log, and it has been since more than 15 years ago; http://ihateyouall.com/
@CheapWebhosting.lk Your reply did make me wonder why I wasn't seeing any information of substance so I used a different who is site and was presented with the information I was expecting to see. Thanks
