Website Registered In Designer's Name

My brother's business website is registered in the name of the guy who designed it. The domain name is his business name dot com. Now the web guy has quit doing any work and avoids my brother's phone calls. I just want to move it and take it over, but I can't do anything since he registered the domain. Any ideas on how my brother should proceed against this guy?

If he's avoiding your calls try writing, explain that it is property and has been paid for by himslef. Hint that unless the domain is transferred to your brothers name and account then you'll consider legal action. This may well be the only way to go if he fails to respond.

Unless your brother has a contract specifically stating that the domain name was a part of the price of the design, I don't think there's really much you can do here, short of offering to buy it from him.
