Website redirects and search engine ranking

Hello
I want to know will making your one site's pages redirect to some other site will going to affect searn engine ranking?

eg. i have 1 site getting huge traffic and very good ranking and redirect this sites pages to another 2 site using simple redirect facility in my cpanel. Now the question is will it affects my 1 site ranking. if yes, is there any solution i can do..

Yes 301 redirects are where its at. Google loves them.

 

Means if i use 301 redirect from my website1 to website2 then ranking of website1 will remain same in search engines .

Can u tell me how to do a 301 redirect?

 

Their are many articles on the net about them, just search google or even this forum!
