I am in a position where i am wanting to redesign my website. I am wondering what the best CMS would be for my site in order to have the best template designed for it? eg. wordpress, drupal, joomla, mura? my site is http://jassoft.co.uk
It matters how complex your site is going to be. Wordpress is geared towards noobies, but it can used for rather powerful stuff because it has a lot of support. Joomla is more powerful than Wordpress and is used for even more complex sites running tons of content. I don't have any experience with Drupal or Mura. You need to figure out how complex your site is going to be before you decide on a CMS.
It's not a bad looking site, but if you're going to change it, maybe you should consider having someone design it for you, like hire a coder or freelancers.
You can find some free good looking joomla template. Drupal is also very good, but you won't be able to find some cool free templates.
i think i am going to stick with wordpress for the time being and get a nice header and logo designed
I tend to use wordpress myself because of the number of plugins that they have, it has made it really easy to cut spam out all together and integrate vbulletin with their software. I can't really say that I have used to others as much as wordpress though.
We believe that website design process begins with discovery - identifying the target audiences for the web site, developing a persona set, conducting usability studies, surveying our clients, and defining the structure of the redesigned site. Website Redesign Website Redesign All of the information during the discovery phase of the project helps our designers focus on your needs and your target audiences. Because our design is judged on whether or not we successfully represent your organization and communicate effectively with your audiences, we see the visual design of the website as our solution to a unique set of circumstances and requirements....
I like Joomla - get a well designed template and your site will look really professional. I would generally stay away from cheap templates, it just never looks as good as a bespoke design...
It just looks like you want to add some blog integration into your site. At least that's what I'm getting when I look at your site. For that I would simply use Wordpress. You don't need to get to complicated to just add a simple blog and comments section. If you really wanted to you could use on of the other CMS solutions out there but I personally feel that would be a little overkill, unless you wanted to add additional dynamic interactivity.
