Hi there If a Client ask me for a website quote, do I give them the quote before or after the project scope/proposal? So I'm suggesting if would be after I find out what the functionality of his site is right? Lets say I got the Client to fill in my form and gathered some info for his new site. Then I meet up with up with the Client for the first and knuckle down everything (Blue Print). So now I am ready to do up a proposal after doing some research and estimating a cost. Is this a more appropriate steps or is there a more easier way of doing it? I am open to hear your opinions. If possible to even find out the most effective steps before meeting up with the Client, proposals, site building and payments? Many thanks in advance CHEERS
I have deal with many programmer and they usually give me a quoted price before the project is done. And i find its good coz so that the budget can be properly manage.
Exact quote is difficult because few clients may start increasing their requirement in the middle of the project and they won't increase their budget so it would be better if you discuss your charges in advance in case they increase their requirement.
I would try to estimate a rough quote first, but I would def make sure both you know how much work youre getting into. Nothing is worse than getting paid for a 40 hour job, then learning thats its going to take you 80 hours to finish it instead.
What I do is get as much information upfront and then I provide a quote before I begin work, but I do have a separate part in my contract for additional work. I have yet to come across a client that doesn't decide they need/want something extra Dee
