Website promot without www. should I add or leave it like this?

Hey all
I just bought great website, first page about 8-9 position.
The site build and promote as domainname.com without www.
the position is nice, but still not good enough for me.

The site based Wordpress so I can change it easily but I want to promote the site with more backlinks.
should I change it www.domainname.com or just leave it like this and build backlinks with www or not?

If you are beginning to build the site without www, it's good you do not change the format. Because will be screwed in the SERP

depending on the initial optimization you do,
it's just an opinion from me, all the decision is yours

 

Check your sites previous backlinks and watch in which format your links are there. If they contain www. then you can add that in your domain or else keep it as it is.

 

If it's doing good then leave it that way and also add canonical link element into your website so that if accidentally some of your links have been made with www which creates duplicate content issues. Or you can permanently redirect "www version" to "non www version".

 

Agree with the above. If it is doing good...leave it. Just add 301 redirects from the www version to the non www one.

 

Maintain anyone either with www. or without www , better you rewrite .htaccess file providng 301 permanent redirectin from www version to without www (or viceversa).., but be sure it is a 301.., then there will no issue wid ur SERP's.., may be they will dropped for a while but ensure you that SERP's will retain...,

 

Redirect non www to www version so in the eyes of the search engines its considered one URL.

 

Adding www or removing it wont make any changes according to my knowledge
