    My website is http://plantspages.com.
    This website I created using a free css template and modifying it to my requirements.
    I used dreamweaver MX for doing that and i previewed the pages in Firefox. Only after uploading it to my server I tested with IE (mine is IE6). It is not displaying things properly.All tumbled and with spaces in between.

    I searched and first I should validate at w3.org and I did it. There were some errors and corrected them. Now it is both css and xhtml validated.

    But still the problem persists. Now I tested with IE7 and IE8 at IE NetRenderer. In IE7 there is a small problem but overall it is OK and in IE 8 it is perfectly OK.

    Tell me, what I should I do? Please help me.. I am at my wits end!!!!!

    I looked at your site in IE and FF. I see the problems. The big problem with IE is padding and margins are different. More specific the box model in IE is different. Try adjusting your padding and margins.

    Excellent!
    IE6 does not work like IE7 which doesn't work like IE7 compatibility mode which doesn't work like IE8 which is the worst browser on the planet.
    Excellent!
    Such is the life of a web developer and why we all despise IE but you've done everything right and for that reason it looks correct in all the modern browsers, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Chrome. It also looks correct in IE8.

    I'm out of town so I can't check in the other IE versions but if you can live with the minor problem in IE7 I would do so. You should consider the fact that Google and Microsoft and others have, or will soon, drop all support for IE6.

    Its gonna get harder and harder to make this work right accross the board

    IE 8 has "compatibility mode" so theres 2 ways to view a site, one with it on one without it.
    Then theres crome Mozzila and older IE
    ie 7 vs ue 6 etc

    You have to take a stand. You Tube, and other big site already warn ppl to upgrade.

    It IS do able but slowly it will be more and more work. Firefox positions things somethimes a little hight then IE, One one site i had 2 differnt CSS files one for IE onr for Fire Fox

    You will need separate stylesheets, I'm sorry, but you just will. You're not going to find free help that will be willing to make things work out a single stylesheet in all major browsers.

    To correct the most obvious problem, create a separate stylesheet for IE6 and change the following below. This does however, generate a new set of (irritating, but less obvious) problems.

    #plantspages_logo {
    	margin: 61px 0 0 20px;
    }

    #plantspages_menu {
    	width: 535px;
    }

    Code (markup):
    You really either need to pay someone to help you, or dive into CSS head first. :)
