    Quote from http://codefusionlab.co.cc/phpspeedy.html

"Many webmasters, including me, want to improve their website loading speed to enhance their visitors' experience. Many of you, who are using a host which do not give you .htaccess to perform gzip compression on your data stream, can now have an effective solution for that...."

At the end of the article,

"However for you webmasters starting out, make sure your template already has the code! If you have a wordpress blog, you might be happy to know that a plugin has been released for it which implements PHPSpeedy on it..."

This scripts implements gzip compression on your webpages, even without access to htaccess, like in wordpress....

Bookmark the article for future reference!! - Just like I did!!

Maybe you should consider changing your hosting provider if you are not satisfied with your site performance.

This thread has been about picking the low-hanging fruit. Changing hosting in this situation is a bit of a brute-force solution, don't you think? (and one that not everybody can afford).

My loading times have improved significantly. Before the site would hang and it would take about 3-5 seconds for it to load. Now it appears to load much more quickly!

Hopefully this improves my visitor loyalty! =)

I'll probably write a post on how I increased the speed of my loading time...

    Thanks for all the help!
