How much time normally require to reach website in any of Top Ten positions in Google Search Engine.

Is it possible in 3 months or will take more.

its depend on competition. if you target some city search, then you can come up in 2 months. if niche is high competitive like ( movies, games) then it will take much time.
I recommend 1st focus on long tail keywords. then on main keywords.

It depends on the niche and the competition. With proper use of keywords and backlinks you can get to the first page in a day in a field with no competition. In others you'll have to build up reputation, content and links for months and months.

Truth is its all about hows already on page 1 now, for a keyword like "real estate" you will probably never get past page 100.

All depends what is your keyword and how many real competitors are there. Then it comes down to the backlinks, make high PR backlinks to the very keyword you want to top high.

All depends on the competition indeed, adult, gambling, real estate, finance -> forget it. For what type of site are you optimizing?

You might first try going for top ten in a google image search. A few pages of my Mopar site have been in the top ten in the past (haven't checked lately) and I get a lot of traffic from that. I didn't really do anything to get in the top ten but write up a really good page on the topic with a lot of pictures. I think google might use a different algorithm for image search results.

There are some things you can do that will help you get to the top 10 faster.

Add your URL with google's tool to add urls (just google it. I can't add URLs at this point, sry)
Post your site map to Google's Webmaster tools.
Register the site to all major directories including DMOZ - that is a bomb for your ranking.
Then, look for websites that would be willing to post a link pointing to your site.
Of course, include your keywords you want to rank well for in the text of your website.

That's the minimum you should do to rank high fairly quickly.

The competition for the words I would love to have were too much. So I went after the three word phrase. It still took over a year, and I am not at the top of the first page.

    Hello,
Depend your niche and depend your keyword :) If you are trying to rank a long term keyword, it is easy, but if you want to rank keywords like cars, house, sex, etc etc, it will take time.

i have seen competitive niche sites become no.1 in just 8 months - it depends on how strong your backlinks are.

It all depends on how much effort you put into it, domain name, number of backlinks, quality of the content,,,, But you can expect at least 6 months, with maybe up to 3 years.

A lot of it depends on the already established sites in your niche.
