Hi there, just wanting to pick your brains if possible.

I have had a number of people tell me they can not access my website www.photosales.co.nz

One customer was with a major ISP here in New Zealand, so I sent the ISP an email, and got this response:

    Why could this be happening?

Your site is up i just used your link so it must be live. I think the hosting or domain host was down for a little while.

Just got this email from my host:

The data center techs have implemented a manually configured routing solution that they say should fix the problem. Apparently although the dns requests are being received some are incorrect so this should redirect them properly.

Please let us know if you have any further issues and we will try the new nameserver approach but the techs say this should work.

I've had a similar issue in the past, which was caused by an intermittant fault in a router at the datacentre.

Our servers were not reachable by users on specific ISP's at random times, the router was replaced which resolved the issue.

Contact ur hosting company and let him know ur problem, apparently, ur customer cant visit ur company's website via domain name, so tell ur customer using ip address to visit ur website directly.. i have no problem with visiting ur website, i am now in beijing, china. pm me or post here if u have any problem.

Its really easy to track the uptime of your site for free.

I use http://www.montastic.com/ . They fire you an email when the site goes down and comes back up again.

Not sure your host is (I'm based in New Zealand) but consider moving to a host in the States. Much cheaper, more features and more reliable than the local ones.

In this case, it's not helpful with tracking the server's uptime...

It looks to me an routing issue which only your datacenter can fix.
