Website Forwarded For 4 Months, Can I Utilize SEO?

    Hey Everyone,

So I bought a domain name about 4 months ago and forwarded it directly to an affiliate site. However I'm now realizing it's a great domain name & I should have optimized it for the search engines, established backlinks, made videos and started driving visitors to it other ways as well, what was I thinking all this wasted time? lol so I have a question....

Since it has been forwarded for over 4 months, can I suddenly create a real website and have Google and other search engines accept it? Will the pagerank begin to increase if I use normal SEO tactics even though Google must have it labeled as a useful forwarded site right now?

There are already about 300-350 links to the site out there, will they count has backlinks or has Google already written them off?

Any help or advice is very much appreciated :)

    Danny

Normally google penalize jump pages, but from my experience I do not think it will have any influenze if you change your site to have content. I have done something similar a few months back and my site ranks just perfect after changing the content completely. So I'll say you should give it a shoot :) Googles indexing doesn't bother much about the past as I see it... Good luck mate!

In SEO forum you will definitely get better answer, as far as my opinion is concern I had seen lots of affiliates doing the same.

All I can say is that Google doesn't like redirects..

I have some websites that are currently redirected.. I'm using some techniques to bring in traffic other than SE traffic therefore I wouldn't care about Google.

The thing is they have been actual websites before redirecting them, indexed in Google with quite a high page rank. Within a month or two they have been thrown out of Google's index ...
