Website dropped to PR4 from PR5

    Hello,

My website: wpjunction.com had a PR 5, but it dropped to PR 4, just recently.

What went wrong? Seriously, I can't think of a single explanation for this... The Back links are more than before, the website has more content, and it's well optimized too.

Any Idea on how I can gain the lost PR again?

    Best Regards,
    HPA

This can happen due to many reasons, one reason can be the high PR websites linking to yours which were earlier dofollow have turned to nofollow

Yeah agree with nivedita. I also think your backlink sources might as well lost their PR and which is effecting on yours. I had a new blog with a PR 3 and it dropped to 1. LOL

The problem is your website losts some backlinks, so the page rank decreased. Increase relevant backlinks.

Did rankings drop? If not, then don't worry about PR - it's meaningless :)

Page Rank is like having the best clothes at a party, but not necessarily the best lookin date. Concentrate on keywords in your content, meta-title/descrips and in your text anchorlinks. I am in top seaches for many keywords without having a high page rank.

I also never experienced PR blog down from three to PR 2. This happened because I never update and modify the contents of the main keyword.

Google been acting different these days. Some sites I have are having their PR go up and down with every update. With last update all go up though.

I have a company site that I only use for property management and have never done any link building for. The PR has gone from 4 to 0 to 3. This is with basically no changes to the site. It has 2 indexed natural backlinks with no PR.

    I'll never really understand PR...

Honestly, why does anyone care about PR? Only other internet marketers pay attention, potential customers certainly don't and most have never even heard of it.

That being said, did you experience a coinciding drop in SERPS?

I have a question, let say you have a PR5 website, will creating backlinks to pr1 or unranked websites pull down your PR?
