Hi all, I have been confused to determine that is the website designing an art or a trick that you can learn using some tools and technologies.
It requires both! One obviously needs to learn all tricks, techniques and how to use design tools/softwares to convert his/her artistic thoughts to action.
A good website design requires either art or trick. To create a really awesome design, requires both. You can have an artistic idea but to implement it on various browsers equally, you require tricks. Also, tricks without art is vain as you may end up with a plain 90s site that is viewable on all browsers but no one wants to view it.
Definitely both, you need the Photoshop and design techniques but you have to be artistic to create an aesthetically-pleasing, intuitive layout
