    Hi Folks,
I was just wanting to know how much a simple but nice web site design would cost, i was thinking of a page for a log in and an index page with an css file that i could add the rest of my information myself

    Thanks

That, my friend, is a "loaded question" here at DP... That would all depend on a number of things...

    = Geographic location
    = Currency value
= Quality of "nice" as interpreted by different tastes

The range of a "simple but nice" website with a database and back-end area could run you a "________" <== Fill in the blank DP members!! :)

    Cheers!~

Why not try out one of the free platforms and build a simple one yourself such as blogger, squidoo or weebly. If you want to get a price for a unique site you can also post on elance or freelancer, there are lots of web designers there looking for work.

If you code it yourself, you only have to pay for hosting and domain registration. From what I have seen, web design is expensive. Alot of places charge by the number of pages you want too. For a single informational page, you may get by on just a couple hundred dollars. If you want several pages, contact forms, flash animation, etc. your price will probably go up considerably. I would just do a search for web design companies in your area to see how their pricing structure works though.

May be post your requirement in the BST section. I'm sure you'll get a lot of offers to choose from. Some of them will be real cheap.
