    Hi There,

I want to own an IT website. I was wondering if I should buy a template or hire the service of website designer. Any opinion will be highly appreciated?

Web designers often make more creative looking sites, if you find a good one, but templates might be cheaper. I think you should look around for affordable web designers, and take a look at some of their previous work to see if it matches your standard, if not, you could always go back to looknig at templates.

Designer is the best solution ! When you are buying template, no one will look 100% like you want ... Again, you need designer to edit it...

there are so many free and pay templates out there that I am sure you could find one that would work.
since you are just starting, I would use a free template and then decide later if you need anything else.

also, what is an "IT" website?
would help if we knew exactly what type of site you are wanting and for what purpose.

    luck,
    robert

Templates are cheapest but webdesigner can create just want you want. Try posting a project on gaf (getafreelancer.com) you might be surprised the quality you can get for very little money.

On a tight budget the best thing to do is find a template that closest matches what your idea then hire a designer to make minor edits where needed.

If you are not professional in web design , it is better to set budget and get the site designed by professionals .
Hacking an existing template is the second choice unless you are good at web design .

I would definately say template. Then when you have the template
picked out, run an ad on here for programmer who has used that
    template. Much faster and cheaper.

The cost of hiring a professional devloper could and should be classified as a business expense.
