Ok I recently recreated a website of mine, http://thepokerstrategy.com/ Please tell me your opinions on it. Do NOT comment on the coding, way it was created, etc. just the design. I will most likely hire someone else to code it properly for me, as I never do a very efficient job. It is supposed to have Web 2.0 look to it, what do you think?
It looks like web 1.5 ) The buttons look cool, appealing and the images also look nice but the banner and the overall background is to plain and simple. Hope it helps
The design looks good, but check it in Firefox and other browsers because it has some problems in Firefox here. (Firefox on Ubuntu Linux)
Honestly, it doesn't look very Web 2.0, though it is clean. I totally promote clean design and that's one of the key points of Web 2.0 design. Check out a few of these sites for some really clean, fresh design. stylegala.com cssvault.com cssbeauty.com csselite.com cssremix.com Those are some of my favorite sites to get some fresh ideas and kinda ponder what look I want to achieve in my next design. Now a lil more critique on your web site design; the buttons look slightly year 2000, like as if you might be using a lil to much bevel. If you stick to a good combination of inner glows, gradients (or gradient overlays), border and drop shadows, you can come up with some really nice buttons. If you like I can do a tutorial for you on creating some of the buttons found in today's design, or aka, Web 2.0. Actually ya know what, I will go ahead and do a tutorial on some different techniques for making various Web 2.0 looking buttons and post it on my web site at: focalenergy.com/photoshop-tutorials/. So keep an eye out on there, as I should have a couple tutorials up in the next few days. Peace, Patrick
Thanks for the feedback Patrick, I will definitely start working on your suggestions now. Also, can't wait for you to put up those button tutorials Thanks
