    Hello

If a website ranks within the first 100,000 of Alexa then How much weight this gives to the website pricing ?

I know that there are various factors that incflence the the cost of the website like domain name, Age of the domain, Current PR Site traffic and Search Engine ranking but I'm interested to know about alexa factor

I wouldn't give it any value - you can easily manipulate Alexa numbers and they aren't real reliable to begin with. Traffic stats obtain from your logs can certainly add value, but it's really going to depend on the niche of the site and where the traffic is coming from.

mjewel has said it all. Alexa is just a handy tool to give you a ROUGH idea how your site is doing. heck, you can buy 'alexa fakers' - bots that just hit it constantly to try and make it look like your site is popular. There are also a few exploits that have the same effect. Only a total noob would pay more based on alexa ranking.

    alexa is useless

reason : they rank us good when our forum was doing moderate

they rated bad when we are doing well now both on stats and activity

Normally it will only add a few percentage for the value of the site and the average is around 5~10% max.
Alexa can be easily manipulate by using certain tool that why it ranked less important than PR.

PR is not something at all to base it on... Base it on one thing and one thing only... PROFITS! Which means how much it has made in the past 12 months, and the projection for the next 12 months.

I have observed Alexa Rankings Update is:

    1. When you are in top 500,000 .. Rankings update once every two (2) weeks.
    2. When you are top 100,000 - 500,000 .. Rankings are updated once (1) a week.
    3. When you are in top 500,000 and above, rankings update monthly
    4. If you are in top 100,000 - rankings update daily..

That is just based on experience. Many people say that alexa rankings is not reliable but for me gathering of data may have affected.
