    I am getting freelancers to rewrite some of articles and I intend to upload it to my website. Just wondering if the uniqueness of the article is about 90% compared to the original article, would it rank well in the search engine?

    No one can answer your question without see the article. Just upload and see
    Eventhough your article is 100% unique, you cant ensure you get good ranking in search engine

    My personal suggestion is to ask writers to write 100% original content. You can face some duplicate problem in case your article are not well re-written.

    If you ask this question to Google, then I think this will be there answer:

    "As your article is just another version of another article and as your article is giving the same information that another/original article is already giving, then why would we rank your article/page/site higher than the original article"

    90% is more than good. But that doesn't Guarantee any rankings. That's a whole different ballgame.
