its legal if you are just using the idea of site's features.. its legal as long as you will not steal their codes. should write own source code. its legal if you will not exactly copy the design, design should be change. its legal if you will not use their contents that includes images or any resources from the other site.. This way you will create a clone, but you will be also respecting copyrights.
