I am interested in start a small little business in my local area. The business would be making websites for smaller businesses. I would charge them to make the website and then charge them to host it. Anyone have any experience doing this? I would like for any input.
My business is pretty much 85% local business, it's good but my only tip is don't do any online marketing par a small portfolio website, and word of mouth goes a long way locally Local newspaper advertising is a good way to get local business, do some pro-bono work for local charities / trusts and make sure theres an editorial in the paper about it, great way to get free advertising. I pretty much work on the basis of excellent customer service, don't expect people to come to you either, their too busy running their businesses so you'll have to goto their place of work a lot of the time. A lot of my work has been built up slowly and through word of mouth, and a lot of my initial problems where convincing people why they need a website. Through that a lot of my customers started with smaller websites and we've built them up into larger ones over time as they've come to see the benefits
Yeah it a good business I have do this before and due to getting a lot of order,i was force to outsource some of my work to other company. And it make my work lot more easier. You need to hire a few worker in case you received a lot of order
