Hi guys! I want to create an online store, with the possibility of online payments. I read an interesting article last night about WYSIWYG Website Builders. Can I use this system for my idea? If anyone can point me in right direction that would be great
Wrong question? You should be asking whether you should put yourself at risk using code without understanding it. These things are all flawed in one way or another they are design to suck in the gullible to lock them into a hosting and registration package. If you are serious about developing a site then hire a professional to write it for you, or invest the time to learn enough basic that you at least understand how the code you are considering actually works. If you do not have enough skill to see where potential security holes exist, then doing financial transactions is like standing in a pool of gasoline with a lit candle. If you are looking at setting up some kind of online store you also need to understand the reality of doing business on the internet. 80% of new online stores fail and 90% never make enough profit to cover costs of setup advertising and the owner's time. The ones that do succeed are almost always written by a professional or someone with guidance from a professional, and it is almost impossible to grow beyond a very small niche without a substantial financial commitment.
Following on from @COBOLdinosaur's excellent post you should be looking for ecommerce software that is "user friendly" rather than "website builders". In fact, just look for ecommerce software, find the one that will create the type of store you want and then knuckle down and learn how to use it.
Piling on the last two replies: Website builders are ALWAYS a bad idea. None of them deliver good code, and some of them have security holes so big you can drive an 18-wheeler through them. However, depending on your needs, there are several more-or-less out-of-the-box solutions that might work for you. There are plenty of ready-built online-stores out there, some of the more popular ones are WooCommerce (a WordPress plugin), Shopify and Magento. Depending on what you're going to sell, and your needs, one of those solutions might fit your project. When it comes to Magento, it's a bit of a hassle, in that it's resource hungry, and you will probably not have a very good solution unless you run it on a stand-alone server configured for running Magento. Unless you plan on having a big store, Magento might also be a bit overkill.
I'd toss my two cents in, but really everyone has covered the basics and anything I say would just be a massive long insulting rant talking about mouth-breathing asshats and nube-predating scam artists.
You started out by saying you want an online store with payment processing. Now you say you want a simple website. Which is it? those are mutually exclusive. There is no such thing as a simple website if you are intending to do business transactions on it. Simple is a static page that acts like a business card; and perhaps you can stretch that to something with a basic contact for, but even a contact form carries security risks and has to be process server side.
Go with an ecommerce software respective to your website's type.. I would suggest you some of the popular ecommerce provider namely magento, woocommerce, clone scripts also like fancy clone, wanelo clone, etsy clone. Some of my suggestion as i'm not sure what kind of an online store you looks for. Good luck.
