One of my visitors has a comment on my blog about the design favorable to the color blinds. He said that 4% male are colorblind. I researched the net for articles about it, I found out that color blind people sometimes can't navigate a website/blog because they can't see some text colors so it can cause early exit or high bounce rate. I also read that 1 out of 12 visitors are color blind! Do you consider your website/blog color blind friendly? Mine is somehow 50/50 i think..
Never really thought about this before. I usually keep my main navigation separate from the main content of the page so I think that would help. I also usually underline my links and keep headers and text with no underline. I also find it hard to believe that 1 out of 12 users is colorblind.
You're thread made me do a bit of research myself! They are saying that about 5% of the male population is red-green color blind. That's crazy! I think though that if you use good design principals anyway you shouldn't have a problem.
Interesting question. There are articles on what colors you can use that can create enough contrast but I haven't researched it heavily myself.
i think black and white is a safe one to use.. red-green color blindness is the most common. check this out: http://www.vischeck.com/vischeck/vischeckURL.php a tool that shows what color blind people see in your site. With 3 kinds of colorblindness.
very informative..Have checked many websites and most of it are in category "Deuteranope (a form of red/green color deficit)"
