Website Backlink question

Hello All..

Can anyone tell how much time does google take to show backlinks.
I mean I have a few backlinks but it does not show in link:website.com page in google.

"link:" isn't quite accurate. Go to Google Webmasters Tools or check Yahoo BL.

It depends on so many factors, like the linking page/site and crawl visiting the site who is linking to your site and once indexed with your link and cached it will start passing value.

however, showing that link using the link: modifier is based on Google backlinks update and even though many links might never show up in the list

Better move to Google webmasters tools and check your links their, or use Yahoo site explorer but it will only show the first 1000 links your website have at any time.

 

Google will never show all of your links even in webmaster tools. Use yahoo site explorer to check links.

 

it is difficult to predict but my experience is that backlinks from higher PR sites get listed more quickly, because Google seems to value them more and also crawls their pages more often, therefore picking up your link

Yahoo site explorer is much more fast & accurate than google webmaster tool.

Google back link updation is the part of google updation and there is no fix time to update these. Some times it take 2 months, 3 months or 15 days only too.

 

yahoo explorer is good to check your back links! i used it and its better then google tool bar

 

Most people are say two weeks. It really depends on your niche. More competitive niches require more spiders = less time. I am in t competitive niche and it takes anything from two weeks to 3 months to get backlinks

Google will take huge time to show backlinks through 'link:' operator. You can better find them through webmaster tool of G.

 

I suggest to not use the link: operator for checking the backlinks as it only shows a very small sample of BLs [for new sites, link: operator may show no BLs for quite sometime]. Google Webmaster Tools, however show a bigger sample of BLs.

You can use Yahoo Site Explorer to view most of your backlinks.
