Would you rate this as a good appraisal for a site?

    http://leapfish.com/

If so, why? If not, what other alternatives are there? Free ones of course!

I always get fairly inflated figures from that for some ofmy cheapdomains....but my domains which are actually worth something rank fairly badly...so whoknows??

I think that a domain is ultimately worth what someone willpay for it and these valuations need to be taken with a grain of salt

prices are totally uncertain there, valuations are based on websites income, and i have no clue what factors they are considering to value a website.

Each site has it own profile..

Income, domain brand, email list, software/tech, trademarks, patents, etc.

You have to take in all these things, good luck!

No. and no one else does.
If you go to a buyer and say "It was appraised at Leap Fish for..." they will know immediately that you are new, and out of your mind.
    Software cannot value a website.
    Software doesn't see revenue.
Software doesn't read the financial section of the paper, nor does it know the going rate or state of the market.
Software does not know the value of the U.S. dollar right now.
Software can only give you an mathematical opinion based on what has already happened, now what is happening now, or going to happen.

    Appraisals are worthless.
The only opinion that matters is that of the buyer and what his agenda and budget are.

I use http://www.smartpagerank.com . It gives a good ball-park figure of what websites are worth. Of course, a site is only worth what someone will pay for it ;).
