I have a blog that I've started in March 2007, in conclusion this month the blog will be 1 year old. The domain was first registred in 2004, but no to much activity until March 2007. Some people told me that after a year, they search engine traffic exploded, or doubled, etc. I wanted to ask if other people experienced a higher traffic after their website made 1 year, or more. Thanks
This could be true I suppose, but I doubt Google filters search results directly based on the domain age, since this wouldn't be appointing the best information sources to certain keywords.
Yes, but I've heard that after 1 year, or 1 year and a few months Google starts to give your website more trust, and give your better rankings.
age is just one factor out of hundreds of other factor in the algorithm. if you only have good point in one factor but not so good in all the other factor I believe your site won't get any traffic for million years. do you think your site will be only one out of 1000 sites of 1 year old site or your will going to be among one million sites? the top site that usually get traffic from the search engine is the sites on the first three pages of serps and that is only 30 sites.
I have experience with several websites I started from scratch within the last four years. All of them have had periodic sudden increases in traffic from Google, but the times when these increases occurred varied. None of them occurred EXACTLY after one year.
I understand that the period for the sudden traffic increase varies, but can you tell us after how much time did you saw changes ? Just a few examples.
One of my site experience a huge increase of traffic (5th page jump to 1st page) after 9 months for a 15 million result keywords. I build links (articles, signatures, blog commenting etc) along the way thou..
while i maintain full creative productivity since nearly 11 yrs it appears to me that the older the site the easier it is to increase traffic and to get top 10 serps for new pages
