    Have you had much look with selling banner advertising on your website? The reason why I ask is that I'm going to be launching a new website soon, and the services that I will be providing will be free, but to make some income from the site I'm looking to sell banner advertising, and wondered how people went about doing this.

    I know I could get affiliate banners, but will that bring in income that will pay for bills etc.

    Your thoughts appreciated.

    What kind of site did you have in mind. I think it makes a difference if it is wide appeal vs narrow niche.

    Just join some pay-per-click or CPM distribution partner programs - it will earn you a few bucks a month. Selling ad space on your own is not an option until you have hundreds of thousands banner impressions a day.
