I've had this site for a little while, but only recently started to track stats. I noticed traffic from Yahoo and decided to go have a look to see where I stood with them. Much to my surprise, I'm #1 for my main keyword phrase. Not a lot of traffic, but doesn't this stand for something? Does it give it more worth should I decide to sell it?
sometimes yahoo can be retarded that way, I have some sites with spammish names that rank well in yahoo only because they whatever.com so they rank first for "whatver"
may be for non competitive keyword, me too was in first place for a non competitive keyword in yahoo and getting weekly little traffic
it's pretty easy to hit the top 5 on Yahoo, I have several sites with page 1, #1 ranks for major 3-word and 2-word keywords. I wish the benefit was as good as getting those ranks on Google, but they are far from it.
Thanks for all the input. I just wanted to add that it may help, though, for rankings period. This site used to be on page two of Google, it dropped (way down, like page 8). However, now it's back up to page 3 for the main term. I decided to go have a look when analytics showed an organic visit from Google.
Yahoo is not that better try to get good ranking in Google It depends on your keyword. If your keyword is good ranked then you got good scope in it. Best of luck
getting ranked in yahoo is much easier than in google. but all these depend on your target visitor tough. if you aim for yahoo traffic just go for it but if you aim for google traffic just consider it as a bonus. good luck.
