Hi all, At the moment I am looking for some clarity regarding duplicate content on my domain. The webshop I run sells shoes, which meas that of some models we have different colours, but it is the same shoe/model. For these shoes we have different Page Headings and H1 tags. The only thing that is the same is the product description. Will google give us a worse page-rank/penalty because these shoes have the same content? If so, is there a way to work around this. Cheers.
use canonical tags....but you will not get a penalty....there are literally thousands of websites like yours!
You will not get punished, but it will be extremely difficult to get any good postions in SERP. Duplicate content of any kind and Top1 is not the combination I see in the SERP. Get creative and make some partial unique content for each shoes type.
Or cut down the number of pages and put everything on one page. That seems to be the trend on other sites. It may seem like a bad SEO move but more pages does not always turn into more SEO opportunities if they have the same content.
its hard issue, but you can still change your content or reconstruct it to a better on page optimization.
