By size I mean word count. I just did an analysis of 2,000 articles I've published on one site and and their reads today. 700 of the articles have 150+ words and 1300 have 50+ words. Of the articles with 150+ words about 25% of them have had reads today whereas the smaller articles have only achieved 10%. I assume this must be because the larger articles are doing better in search engines. That said, there are smaller articles that do well for reads on a daily basis and visa versa. What do you think? Is there an optimum word count for articles and webpage content? BTW I don't overdo keywords but write in a style I believe to offer an easy read for visitors.

With respect READ THE THREAD POST and don't waste your time with irrelevant answers. Your answer looks like the rules, cut and paste, from an article publishing site. I'm sick of DP members who reply with little regard for the topic of the post. This thread was supposed to encourage a discussion on article size. 400-750 words - as your "reply" suggests is far too long. I've an article, 2 years old, 40 words, which gets up to 50 reads a day and earns most days.
I think long articles isn't very interesting to read. I mean you should write minimum and express maximum. Articles should be original and readers friendly.
50 words is not an article, its hardly a paragraph. even 150 words is not a good article, a good paragraph may be. if you want to write something covering a specific topic, you need to atleast write 250-350 words.
I like to think the best way write is to do it similar to a newspaper article with the most content into the smallest space. It's probably hard to generalise as some articles will require more words but as long as you don't waffle and dont put a lot of useless information its fine.
Every article submission directories have personal rules and regulations.so if you want to publish article in the article directories then you have follow such rules. There are some rules common to publish article.
