So my site has lately been having between 7-10 pageviews per visit A nice bounce rate between 18% and 28% The time on site has been greater than 7 minutes Lately I am getting 400 unique visitors a day and 3,000+ pageviews per day. My site is only a few weeks old, and coming up on being a month old. But I have lousy return visits. I always have 90% or more new visits, sometimes its 60% but it seems like it never lasts. I am not growing at an astounding rate where the new visits also retain old visitors. So how can I retain visitors better? Or is this part of just "starting out" ?
Does your site have any RSS feed? Do you ask visitors to bookmark your site? Does your site offer compelling content that people would want to bookmark and come again?
Yes it has RSS feed. No I don't ask to bookmark. Yes, I think the latter since conten is fresh every 2-4 hours and brand new every day
Do you offer anything free? I suggest you add some social bookmarking plugins so that people will readily return to your site. But, when it comes down to it.. Build backlinks, and Quality Unique Content. When you write, answer questions to what a potential visitor is looking for.
But isn't 8 pageview per user per day, 8 minutes on the ste, a determination of perhaps at least decent or quality content? Also with low bounec rate of 25% should also corroborate that? I am building up backlinks and maybe I just need to get out more
