WebNameSolution Legit?

We've had offers to buy the .com of a domain of which we already have a .co.uk with a successful site on. You know how they play it, they want you to spend 2-5 grand on it, no thanks.

But now I get an e-mail from WebNameSolution saying they have this for sale for $49.99, a figure well worth spending on this.

Point is, the registrant, according to Whois is in Korea. WNS is in Canada.

This search only has 4 results of which one says they're reported on a spam list.

Their site is pretty crap in FF and another search result shows they have their own domain name for sale.

This all adds up as being dodgy IMO.

Have you heard about these folks? Are they legit?

How come I can buy a domain off them which isn't theirs?

    I wouldn't trust it mate...

The offer is tempting for sure, but I wouldn't be worried about the 50 bucks - I'd be worried about the credit card info they could gather from you...

Yes, that's indeed the scare. Maybe if they accept PayPal it's worth a shot.

Though I might just contact the current owner instead.

    I'd do that...

The WebNameSolution site is f**ked and the terms and conditions and privacy policy links boths go to "#"

    Not worth the risk IMO...

They sent the e-mail 3 times as well. Far from professional.

Agreed. 1 indexed site page, domain for sale, spam listed... I wouldn't give them $50

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I recently got an email from these jokers trying to sell a domain. It's actually a domain that is very similiar to some sites I do so I was curious.

If you go to their site and do a search for "montana", it comes back with a list of domains. I OWN one of the domains in the list and it is not for sale. Also almost all of other domains that come back aren't even registered, but they'll sell them to you for $49-$199.

Hopefully this will help save someone from getting scammed.

I just figured it out. They don't own the names they are trying to sell. This name is up for auction at snapnames in a few days.

Lots of posts on forums around the web on this "company"

If you buy any domains from them, transfer them from the registrar (whoever the use, they are not one) to a legit company and you should have no issues.

WEBNAMESOLUTION IS A TOTAL FRUAD AND SCAM OPERATION.

They will try to sell you the same domain again and again, and they take your domains from you before the exipration date and they WILL NOT notify you of renewal requirements.

They should be reported to the authorities.

    SCUMBAGS.
