I take regular backup of my sites once every two weeks which includes
    a. Web Directory
    b. OSCommerce Store
    c. WebHosting Services
    d. Blogs x 3
    e. Joomla based sites x 5

    ------------------------------
In a way I utilize my bandwidth in downloads on a raid specifically installed for backup of our sites as well as for our customers (those that are maintained by us)

What is your frequency and what are your strategies for backup? How often do you think is just right so that you are not left with lost data in case of a crash ?

If you find a good host, they'll back it up for you automatically :)

Agree with you on this but at the same time you have to take backup of your site regularly for your own safety. Never depend on your host all time.

I have suffered once with crash on "good" host - informing me that it was my responsibility as well to take backup (of course i wasn't paying them for backup that time) ... and I lost some critical data for my store :( lesson learnt the hard way - but valuable one.
As Don has rightly said - do it for your own safety - and may i add "don't trust anybody" for what you ought to do...

    Thx

I backup my sites after every 15 days.

    Backup includes everything, database, files..etc

Sometime I download the backup too otherwise just make a backup and let the backup file sit on the server.

And if your host goes out of business, disappears, burns down, moves to Russia etc... then you and your 'backups' are screwed :D

I make backups everytime I change something significant, and make database backups about once a week.
