Just noticed that in Google Analytics > Webmaster Tools > "links to your site" - i only have 56 sites that are linking back to my site but when i do a site link back check direct from the Google search page it shows 162 sites. Any ideas?
Google doesn't show you all the links back to your site - just a sampling of them. It's better to go to yahoo and type in link:www.site.com (with your site's url, of course) to see who links to you. It's still not perfect, but you'll see more than Google will show you.
